Christ Church Parish offers fun groups for both Middle School and High School youth. The groups focus on fun, faith, and service to others. Our Messy Church Youth Group is for kids in grades 5 through 8. Our high school group is for teens in grades 9 through 12. Feel free to drop in any time! Additionally we prepare Ninth Graders and older youth for Confirmation each year with monthly classes and programs. Confirmation is celebrated each spring at one of our Danbury Deanery churches.

Once a month our Messy Church Youth Group meets for fun, service to others, and spirituality. Leaders Meredith McClung (938-4035) and Sue Klipfel (938-7410) plan all kinds of fun stuff for kids in grades 5 through 8. The youth group meets on Fridays in the late afternoon. Call Sue or Meredith for their schedule.
Confirmation I, II and III is for young tweens and teens in sixth, seventh and eighth grades. It is a departure from standard Church School curricula and is centered on helping young teens learn to make good decisions and setting the foundation for their religious growth in years to come. It builds a strong foundation for the Sacrament of Confirmation for which they are eligible once they are a little older.
This class, which we call Confirmation I/II/III, is special: it is the Rite 13 curriculum, a preliminary step toward the Confirmation class (which we call AP Confirmation) offered to 9th grade and up. Confirmation I/II/III is taught by adult “teams” at the same time as church school—10:00 till about 10:30 am. They meet in the education wing downstairs in the Upper Room.
Questions? Please call Meredith McClung, Director of Children’s Ministries, at 938-4035.
Messy Church Youth Group begins this fall for grades 5 through 8: we meet once a month, on a Friday, from 5 till 7 pm, with leaders Susan Klipfel and Meredith McClung. Here's what to expect ~

Friday, October 23, 5 till 7 pm, Hot dogs and head stones . . . dress warmly, and bring a flashlight!
Friday, November 20, 5 till 7 pm, Advent Wreath workshop tonight. Bring in greens from your yard, and bring the rest of your family if they're game--this is a parish-wide event tonight!
Friday, December 11, 5 till 7 pm, Messy Church Youth Troupe. Rehearsal for Godly Play Mystery Advent Theatre.
Great news!! We have a wonderful high school youth group for teens in grades 9 through 12. On Sunday mornings (usually the second Sunday of each month) Leona Lindner (938-9936) and Marilyn Anderson (938-4790) meet with our high school students from 9 till 9:45 for breakfast in the Upper Room downstairs. There are additional evening or afternoon events to be led by Gretchen von Dwingelo or Jennifer Agnes and maybe a few other adults throughout the year. Our focus is on fun, service to others, and spirituality. We hope to provide a safe space for teens to feel that they are accepted and understood.
AP Confirmation is offered each year to teens in high school. It is taught by the rector or our seminarian intern. Interested students should contact the Rev. Marilyn Anderson at 938-2872.
The parish has a cohesive group of high school students who make a great contribution to parish life. The majority are committed acolytes, lectors and ushers. Those who indicate an interest may give their time as assistant teachers in the Confirmation I/II/III class. Some prefer to help on Sundays in our Cherub Room.
The energy and enthusiasm our teenagers bring to parish ministry, mission and activities is invaluable, and they are welcomed by the congregation as the young adults that they have become.
