Our Music Program

Our Chancel Choir serves the essential role of music ministry in our 10:00 celebration of the Holy Eucharist, leading us in hymns and offering a new anthem each week. At Christ Church Parish we revere music as a vital and vibrant component of our spiritual experience. The choir rehearses each Sunday at 9 am and, after a short break for fellowship, for an hour following the service. They sing anthems by Bach, Handel, Beethoven, and other classical composers, as well as spirituals and hymns from other cultural traditions.

Our youth choir leads us in worship on the first Sunday of each month during the school year, which we are calling Youth and Family Sunday. They learn to sing and read music, while having fun and growing in their faith. Teens of the parish are their mentors and shepherds.

Occasionally we feature special musical guests, who share their gifts with us and enhance our worship. Martha Meyer, our Music Minister, welcomes anyone who wishes to join the Chancel Choir or the youth choir. Interested singers may contact Martha at church, 938-2872, or at her email address, which is in the Sunday bulletin.

Summer Guest Musicians

In the summer months our choir takes a well deserved break. At that time we also feature surprise guest musicians at our Sunday celebrations of the Holy Eucharist at 9 am.
