Join us for a “quiet day” of stress management, reconnection, and reflection, as we learn how to create a space for peace.
Jesus said, "Come off by yourselves: let’s take a break and get a little rest.” [Mark 6:31, from The Message, paraphrase by Eugene Peterson]. Let’s follow Jesus’ advice, and come together to quiet ourselves.
We’ll focus on reconnecting to our bodies and souls -- and to God. We’ll learn techniques to help us manage the stress we experience, and how to respond in new ways to minimize unhealthy behavior patterns.
We'll use breathing techniques and progressive relaxation in order to quiet the mind, calm the body and connect to the soul. We’ll practice centering prayer and Christian meditation.
Everyone experiences stress —men and women, retired or working, Church newcomers or veterans. Join us as we explore new techniques of being more present to God and less present to the things that cause stress.
Our Quiet Day leader is Janice Frank, parishioner and therapist.
Please sign up on the bulletin board outside Marilyn’s office if you are planning to attend—so that have enough lunch for everyone. See you there!
