Christ Church Parish, Redding Ridge

Our Schedule of Worship Services

Come and join us often for prayer and worship

Sundays:

8:00 am:  Holy Eucharist, Rite I.  This service uses the traditional Elizabethan language of our British roots.  Its theological foundations reach back to the
English Reformation, the Latin Church, and early Christian worship.  It is a spoken, contemplative service.

10:00 am:  Holy Eucharist, Rite II.  This service is a contemporary-language service of Holy Communion.  Come to participate in wonderful and varied music led by Martha Meyer, our Music Minister.  Come to sing with the choir and enjoy our pipe organ.  Beginning at 10:00 we also offer a dynamic and creative program for children called Messy Church that incorporates Church School and a Middle School Youth Program.  This program is led by Meredith McClung, our Director of Children’s
Ministries.

7:00 pm:  Compline.  This is an ancient service of nighttime prayer, dating back to the Middle Ages.  Sometimes we chant, sometimes we pray in the words of the Book of Common Prayer, sometimes we meditate to the poetic version of the Night Prayer service from New Zealand.  It always provides quiet space for recollection before the busy work-week.  It also gives another opportunity for busy families to come to church and worship in the beauty of holiness.

Tuesday Mornings:

10:00 am:  Lectio divina.  This is a group meditative look at various interfaith texts.
Our leader, Interfaith Minister and parishioner Lisa McCann, takes us on interesting journeys through world religious traditions following various themes each week.

Wednesday Evenings:

7:00 pm:  Holy Eucharist and Healing Prayer.  Come and worship in a smaller congregation as we use the contemporary service from Enriching Our Worship.  This is a Communion service and it provides opportunity to ask for healing prayers for oneself or for someone we love.  It is often followed by a small group opportunity for adult education.  Newcomers are always welcome.
