Christ Church Parish, Redding Ridge

Meet Our Staff

Marilyn Anderson, Rector

Marilyn has been rector at Christ Church for five years.    She and her husband Barry love living in the Redding woods.   Their daughters are officially out of the nest now.  Emily is in Toronto, working as a Marketing Analyst for a large firm in the city.  Chloe graduated from NYU in May 2010 with a double major in philosophy (logic) and sociology.   She is currently working at NYU in the Sociology Department as assistant to the department chair.

Marilyn graduated from the College of William and Mary in Virginia in the 1970's.  She holds a master's degree in geological sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she studied the chemistry of ocean island lavas from the Azores.  She graduated in 1998 magna-cum-laude from Yale Divinity School, with a Master of Divinity degree, and from General Seminary in New York City in 2000 with a Master of Sacred Theology degree in spiritual direction.  Marilyn loves ministry at Christ Church and is excited to see new families and lots of little children.  Her favorite activity is visiting people who are confined to their homes in order to share Holy Communion with them.  At home in the rectory she loves to sit by the fire, play in the garden, and romp with her cat.

Nicki Kimes, Assisting Priest
The Reverend Nicki Kimes was born in New York City and grew up in Westport.   She attended The General Theological Seminary and was formerly the Assistant Rector at St. Paul’s in Fairfield, CT.    She lives in New Canaan and is married to Russell Kimes, Jr. (the former Probate Judge).  They have two grown sons, Russell and Forrest, who is married to Amy.   Nicki is especially interested in spirituality and art, prayer and outreach.   She paints, weaves/spins, knits and loves NASCAR and sports car races, reading and travel.   Nicki is between “calls” and is absolutely delighted to journey in faith with all of you until which time she is called to a parish.

Meredith McClung, Director of Children's Ministries

Meredith McClung began her ministry in children's Christian education when she was 14:  she had been caught reading a James Bond thriller behind her pew sheet during the sermon. Her father felt she needed to be allowed to participate more actively in church life and asked the Christian Education Director of their church if she could assist in the church school classroom. Between then and now she has spent 24 years in church school classrooms assisting, teaching, and coordinating. Since graduating from college in 1974 with a degree in psychology, she has spent the last 30-odd years learning about the real world. Meredith and her very supportive husband Tim have two sons, ages 24 and 20. She continues to learn from them and others about what really matters.

Beth Cox, Parish Administrator

Beth came to Christ Church in January, 2011.  She and her family have been active members of St. James’ Church in Danbury since 2001.  Her husband, Dan, works in Human Resources and is a warden at St. James’.    Her two teenage children, Scott and Madeleine, play the carillon and acolyte at church.  Scott occasionally lectors and just became a bell ringer.   Beth’s responsibilities include payroll; creating the Sunday bulletins and the annual report; and tracking income, expenses and contributions.  She is in the office from 9:00-2:00 Monday through Thursday during the program year and is very excited about this new opportunity!
